    James Morehouse Project Staff

    Lucero Garcia, Counselor

Lucero Garcia started at the JMP as an intern in 2014. She officially joined the team in 2016,  and is currently working as a counselor.  Lucero  graduated from UC Berkeley where she earned her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and her Pupil Personnel Service Credential (PPSC). Lucero is fluent in Spanish. What she enjoys most about working at the JMP is being able to support students and families. An important thing for Lucero is that families and students always feel seen and heard in our school community. Lucero grew up in this community and attended Kennedy High and she still lives in this community so she understands a lot of what our families and students are going through. When not at the JMP Lucero enjoys being at home spending time with her family.
