Peer Mentoring

The JMP facilitates the Peer2Peer Mentoring Program (P2P). P2P mentors are 10-12th grade students who are trained in communication and listening skills in order to provide one-on-one support for their ECHS peers. Meeting with a P2P mentor is confidential within the JMP, except when a mentee may need a higher level of support. Peer mentors speak several languages, including Spanish,Mandarin, Thai, Kpelle, Tibetan, French, and Vietnamese. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Students may want to connect with a peer mentor for support around:

  • Navigating high school

  • Making friends or practicing social skills

  • Talking about school stress, relationships, and more

Mentorship allows students to talk to someone close to their age, who may have shared experiences! When possible, P2P staff match mentors and mentees to ensure they have a good fit. Mentees can meet weekly with the same peer mentor, schedule a one-time meeting, or drop-in to the JMP to speak with an available mentor.

To request peer mentorship, fill out the

P2P request form.
